Curriculum

  Blacksmithing for Doors, Windows, and Iron Engraving

  Safety conditions.

  Types of iron and how to use them in each type of blacksmithing to make doors, windows,            and iron inscriptions.

  The use of hand tools of various kinds.
      Handrails, their types, and measurements, which includes cutting types of iron according to          the required measurements, the use of furnaces (Al-Kour), hammering, assembling iron                pieces for handrails without the use of electric welding.

  Protection bars of windows, followed by a practical lecture on that, in terms of cutting iron            according to the required measurements by a handsaw, then sharpening it by the iron file,              and then perforating and interlocking them with each other.

  Hammering mechanism and how to cut iron using the electric tools as well as the iron                  cutting mechanism with an oxygen torch, hand saw, and other tools.
  Taking correct measurements.

  Installation of window protection bars, the method of perforating alabaster, the depth of the        holes, and the use of an electric drill.

  Theoretical and practical lectures on how to install window protection bars of different                  shapes, such as square, rectangular, and arched.

  Theoretical and practical lectures on welding.

  Production of old and modern doors and windows.

  Iron inscriptions molds for doors, windows, and handrails.

  Producing and installing protection bars.

Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation mechanisms for traditional and modern blacksmithing involved both theoretical and practical assessments of the trainees’ skills in producing doors, windows, and handrails, and their ability to install window protection bars, to produce iron tools, in addition to their understanding of safety measures.
